·       To build and maintain an effective working partnership with Newmarket Charitable Trust, acting as a key operational link where required.

·       To collect, collate and report evidence demonstrating the impact of work with CYP.

·       To manage workload, time and priorities effectively, using initiative and sound judgement in day‑to‑day decision‑making.

·       To undertake any other appropriate responsibilities, as reasonably requested by the CYP Development Officer or a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Objectives and deliverables:

1.      Establish and maintain safe and positive relationships.
·       Build rapport and appropriate relationships of mutual respect and trust with CYP.
·       Proactively consult, listen to and prioritise the views and needs of CYP in shaping provision.
·       Work independently to establish a consistent and trusted presence within communities.
·       Adhere at all times to Safeguarding and Health & Safety policies, procedures and good practice in establishing and maintaining safe relationships and environments.

2.     Provide effective support.
·       Independently plan, deliver and risk assess needs‑led activities for individuals and groups, informed by the voices of CYP.
·       Mentor and support individual CYP through one‑to‑one work in a range of settings.
·       Facilitate and support group activities, working alongside colleagues, volunteers and placements where appropriate.
·       Lead detached and street‑based youth work, developing a strong understanding of local contexts, emerging needs and gaps in provision.
·       Act as an advocate for CYP, supporting them to access additional services and opportunities as required.
·       Use professional judgement to respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, risk and complex situations, escalating where necessary.

3.     Volunteer development and sustainability
  • Recruit, induct, support and develop a team of volunteers to enhance capacity and sustainability.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement and appropriate supervision to volunteers, ensuring they work safely, confidently and in line with organisational values.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive volunteering culture that supports learning, development and retention.
  • Enable volunteers to contribute meaningfully to delivery while maintaining clear professional boundaries and accountability.

4.    Partnership working
  • Develop and maintain a positive, effective working relationship with Newmarket Charitable Trust, supporting shared objectives and funding requirements.
  • Represent the organisation professionally in partnership settings, contributing to collaboration and local networks where appropriate.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with agreed outcomes and expectations linked to funding and partnership agreements.

5.     Collect and collate evidence
·       Complete, securely store and return all documentation required for the safe delivery of work with CYP, including session plans, registers, evaluations and safeguarding records.
·       Accurately collect, collate and report statistical and qualitative evidence to demonstrate outputs, outcomes and impact.
·       Produce case studies and impact summaries to support funding, accountability and the promotion of the organisation’s work.
·       Use evidence and reflection to inform continuous improvement of practice.
